Shirley Caroline Hamilton

Shirley Caroline Hamilton, age 82, of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her home on August 3, 2025.

She was born on October 27, 1942, in Charleston, Arkansas, to Luther and Flo (Morris) Uselton. Shirley graduated from Fort Smith High School and later married the love of her life, Robert Hamilton, on December 3, 1977. They shared many cherished years until his passing.

Shirley found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking, crafting, sewing, and quilting. Her creativity and warm spirit touched everyone who knew her. A woman of faith, she was a lifelong Lutheran and lived by strong values of kindness and devotion to her beloved family.

She is survived by her loving partner, J.C. Trotter; her children: Carolyn Sosebee, Roy Sosebee, and Paula Andrews; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her siblings also survive Shirley: Danny Uselton, Jackie Uselton, and Roy Uselton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Hamilton; and her brother, Donald Uselton.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, with Danny Uselton officiating. Pallbearers will include Robert Farmer, Ronnie Schmaltz, Asa Carter, and Mike Andrews.
