Stephen McKown

Stephen McKown, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at The Blossoms in Van Buren, Arkansas.

Born on November 19, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stephen was the beloved son of Bill and Billye (Kirkpatrick) McKown. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.

Stephen had a deep love for animals, a passion for cooking, an appreciation for fine jewelry, and an enthusiasm for college football. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted father, a caring brother, and a cherished friend to many.

He is survived by his loving children, Alice Gates and her husband Michael, and Angela McKown; two grandchildren; his brother, John McKown; and a host of dear loved ones, including Rachel Newton, Jerad McKown, and Benjamin Schwartz.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandra Schwartz.

Cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
