Talena Sue Smith

Talena Sue Smith, 63, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. Born on June 11, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, she was a cherished daughter of Horace Eugene Turnage and Johnie Sue Barnett.
 
Talena shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Darrell Smith, and together they created a lifetime of memories until his passing. She dedicated her career to property management but found her greatest joy in life's simple pleasures—fishing, walks along the beach, listening to music, and road trips. Above all, her heart belonged to her family. She took immense pride in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and mother-in-law. Known for her strength, kindness, and generosity, Talena touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
 
She is lovingly survived by her parents, Gene  and Johnnie Sue Turnage; her four children, Jessica (Richie), Amber (Cary), Kevin, and Sandi; her adored grandchildren, Lane, Collin, Keegan, Peyton, Kary, and Brenden; her brother, Tony; her sister, Darlene; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
 
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Smith.
 
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72904. Justin Shepherd will officiate. Arrangements are under the thoughtful care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
 
Talena’s warmth, love, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
