Travis Lee Robertson

Travis Lee Robertson, age 75, of Van Buren, Arkansas, entered into eternal rest on January 21, 2026. Born on May 1, 1950, in Charleston, Arkansas, he was the son of Toy James “TJ” Robertson and Orba “Faye” Robertson (Stubblefield).
Travis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna “Gayle” Robertson (Lewis), on July 22, 1972, and together they shared many years of love and companionship.

He attended Northside High School and Westark Community College. Travis proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His service was recognized with numerous honors, including the Purple Heart (1st Award), Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and he was also a recipient of the Quilt of Valor.
Following his military service, Travis worked as a mechanic and later retired from Whirlpool.

Travis loved staying busy and working in his yard. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and tinkering with anything that needed fixing—around his own house or anyone else’s that needed help. He liked hunting, fishing, and camping with family, and he especially enjoyed watching wrestling on television. He was also a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.

Travis was a man of few words, but his mind was always busy—thinking about what he’d tinker with next at his workbench or which project he could take on just to keep his hands moving. He found comfort in staying busy and purpose in fixing things, especially when someone else needed help. He was always there to lend a hand to family or neighbors, or to crack a joke at just the right moment to make you laugh. You could almost always find him with a Dr. Pepper in his cup, vanilla ice cream in his bowl, and—more often than not—a chocolate chip cookie, Kit Kat, or Butterfinger tucked away in his pocket. These small, familiar things were part of  who he was, just like his quiet kindness, steady presence, and the way he showed his love through actions more than words. He may not have said much, but his care for others was felt deeply and will be remembered always.

He is survived by his wife, Donna “Gayle” Robertson; three children, Jennifer Riggs & spouse Richard of Van Buren, Arkansas, Chris Robertson of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Lori Harper & spouse Scott of Ozark, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jordan, Landon, Cade, Carter, Aubry & Camden ; brother Larry Robertson & spouse Bennie of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sister Diane Stafford & spouse Don of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, TJ and Faye Robertson, and two sisters, Thresia O’Brien and Connie Cook.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. The graveside service will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, with Jim Kolp to officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
