William Delmer Crane

William Delmer Crane, age 85, of Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away in the comfort of his home on June 30, 2026.

William was born on July 14, 1940, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to Sanford J. Crane and Lola Mae (Sweeney) Crane. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who began driving trucks at the age of 14 and worked as a skilled diesel mechanic. Throughout his life, he took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and determination.

William enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, and was always willing to travel in search of a good fishing spot. He also enjoyed working on small engines and relaxing with his favorite western shows and movies. He was known for his love of food, especially beans, fish, hush puppies, and fried potatoes. William was a devoted Baptist whose faith remained an important part of his life.

Those who knew William will remember his ornery sense of humor and playful spirit. He loved teasing others, playing pranks, and finding ways to make people laugh. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted grandfather, a hardworking truck driver, and a lifelong fisherman whose love, laughter, and jokes will be deeply missed.

William is survived by his four children: Teresa Crane, Tonyia Chitwood, Tammy Rowe, and Michael Crane; 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his three brothers: David, Ben, and Pug; his sister, Wilma; and several nieces and nephews.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Lola Crane; three wives, his two sons, Steven and Jeffery Crane; and nine siblings.

There will be no services at this time; cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
