Winton McMellon Jr.

Winton McMellon Jr., age 83, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away on January 26, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1942, in Mena, Arkansas, to the late Winton McMellon Sr. and Lessie (Chamberlain) McMellon.

Winton spent his working years as a carpet installer. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing pool and cards, racing, hunting, fishing, and softball. He was a longtime member of Merge Church, valuing his faith and the church family.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Jean (Moore) McMellon, whom he married on September 28, 2024; his children, Kim Wheeler, Jon McMellon and wife Shanna, and step-daughter Kirsten Moore; his grandchildren, Josh, Zac, Kristen, Adam and wife Haylee; his step-grandchildren: Macy, Emma, and Lydiah Moore. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Nick, Colten, Lani, Rylee, Ava, Kenlie, Lola, Remy, and Jason; great-great-grandchildren, Tracker and Hadley Sue; and his siblings, Linda Lambert and Janice Wagner.

Winton is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Nelda McMellon of 57 years, and his siblings: Orvil McMellon, Ronnie McMellon, Joy McMellon, Margie Deprist, and Barbara William.

Cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
