Xiene Chen

Xiene Chen, a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025 at the age of 68 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, AR.

Born on June 12, 1957 in Vientiane, Laos, Xiene was the middle of 12 siblings, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She came by way of Homestead, FL, where married her future husband, Phouthone Phonepradith. She later moved to Van Buren, AR in 1992 and built a life filled with love, family, and kindness.

Xiene dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Phouthone Phonepradith, for 33 years. As a mother to 3 children and grandmother to 4 grandchildren, she was a constant source of support, guidance, and unconditional love. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her cooking. Xiene shared her joy with everyone around her.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Phouthone Phonepradith; her children, Son -  Vicha Lay Chen, Daughter in Law – Kendra Tedford, Son - Ammata Phonepradith, Daughter – Kimaree Chen; Son-in-law – Steven Courchesne; and her grandchildren, Anixxa Chen, Zylise Chen, Addison Phonepradith and Celeste Courchesne.

A blessing service  will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025; from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00p.m. on  Friday, October 10, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Gill Cemetery. Memorial remembrance ceremonies will be held at her residence in Van Buren, AR encompassing her family, friends, and loved ones. Services under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel
